Description
On September 20th, the Prague perfume house Pigmentarium presented its seventh fragrance. The new product named Oratorio is the work of the young French perfumer Théo Belmas and represents one of the distinctive directions of contemporary independent olfactory creation. The fragrance, based on the mutual contrast and harmony of tangerine and frankincense, depicts a moment of being present. One of the places that strongly influenced the inspiration for creation was a quiet baroque church in the center of modern and pulsating Prague.
An olfactory work that was created on real and imaginary journey between Prague and Paris. The perfume drawing contrast between the dynamics of the city, where the day already belongs to tomorrow, and the space of old church, under whose vaults time has stopped. The contrast of two moments that can be connected in one moment. The moment of becoming present.
The first touch belongs to the rare Madagascar mandarin and Egyptian neroli, which symbolize light. The citrus-floral opening is elegantly tart, clean, and unique. Gradually it turns into a spiritual scent of incense and cedar, which is complemented by jasmine in the heart. An accord of opoponax resin together with patchouli oil closes the base of the perfume with a classic balsamic and cooling accent, an expression of darkness than lets us see light.

PIGMENTARIUM is an independent Czech perfume house founded in 2018 by creative innovator Tomáš Ric. The first building block and the brand’s showcase became the perfume AD LIBITUM, which was created as a solitary artistic creation representing not only a distinctive fragrance but also a glimpse at future creations, which hide a secret world of stories behind each fragrance.
Today, society perceives the work of Kuba Kríž as, in his own words, “rap-commercial”, thanks to his significant and appreciated collaboration with the most famous rappers of today. But as Kubo himself states, the beginnings of his work were influenced by the classics of Czech photography, Josef Koudelka, and especially Josef Sudek and his nostalgic depictions of old Prague. The collection of images from 2019 thus reveals to us a lesser-known position of Kuba Kríž’s work as a landscape artist. The intention to photograph the statue of the Vltava, which stands at the foot of the sluice by the Janáček embankment, in the extraordinary lighting conditions of an autumn morning, eventually gave rise to a collection of photographs of the Vltava’s immediate surroundings with a unique atmosphere. And it’s just a coincidence that the Pigmentarium studio is located in the location being photographed. For the cover of the limited series of the latest fragrance, the photo with the Vltava statue was chosen from the entire series. This unique product will be available to MALINNA° store customers from the opening on 26.10. or online at malinaproducts.com
